The whole thing, in four sentences

Cadence exists so one person - you - can keep track of your own care. Everything you put in is stored only to show it back to you. We don't sell it, don't show ads, don't build profiles, and don't let anyone train AI models on it. And there's a real delete button that erases your account and every record with it, immediately - no email required, no “deactivated” limbo.

What we store

  • Your account - email address and a securely hashed password. Optionally your name, birthday, and a 5-digit ZIP code (for local weather - ZIP only, never a precise location).
  • What you put in - appointments and providers; your shelves (skincare, supplements, and the medicine cabinet, including doses, refills, dose-change history, and past medications); routines and rituals; upkeep schedules; event prep; journal entries; and daily check-ins (skin, mood, energy, sleep, side-effect notes).
  • Cycle data - if you use the cycle tracker: period dates, day notes, and intimacy markers. This is the most sensitive thing in the app and we treat it that way. It is stored in our database and nowhere else: no AI ever reads it, it is never shared with or sold to anyone, it's included in your export, and the delete button erases it with everything else.
  • Treatment protocols - if you use the protocol tracker, the schedule and injection log you enter. Same handling as your other health entries: yours, private, deletable.
  • Photos & documents - photos you add to your products and anything you file in the Wallet & Documents vault (insurance cards, scans). Stored to show back to you, never used to identify you, never used for advertising, deletable anytime.
  • Optional email connection - if you connect Gmail or forward a confirmation email, we read those messages only to draft entries you confirm before anything is saved. You can disconnect anytime.

What we deliberately don't do

  • No ads, and no ad trackers or third-party analytics.
  • No selling or sharing your data - health or otherwise.
  • No AI training on your data.
  • No medical advice: the app records what you enter. It never computes, recommends, or validates a dose, and the AI features are not allowed to either.
  • No shame mechanics - and no dark patterns here: deleting your account is one honest step, not a maze.

When AI is involved (and when it never is)

Some features use AI to save you typing: looking up a product, scanning a bottle or a shelf photo, structuring a pasted med list, building a routine, parsing a forwarded email, and the in-app assistant. For those, the specific text or photo you give that feature is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a draft, which you review before it's saved; scanned photos are processed and discarded, not stored. Anthropic doesn't train on this data. Your cycle data, check-ins, journal, vault, and protocol log are never sent to AI at all. AI can be wrong and is not medical advice.

Who ever touches your data

The short list, by name, and only to run the app for you: Vercel (hosting) and Neon (the database); Anthropic (the AI features above); Google/Gmail (only if you connect email); Postmark (receives emails you forward); Loops (sends launch-list emails - marketing only, fully separate from app data); Sentry (error diagnostics - technical crash info, not your entries); and the weather lookups (Zippopotam receives your ZIP, the National Weather Service the ZIP's general coordinates - never your identity). Nobody else.

On-device: Face ID, voice, reminders

App-lock uses your phone's own Face ID / Touch ID - your device answers yes or no, and Cadence never receives or stores your face or fingerprint. Voice input is transcribed on your device; only the text arrives. Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone.

Connecting your own Claude

If you connect Cadence to your Claude account (the MCP connector), you're choosing to let your AI assistant read and add to your own data - it's scoped to your account alone, uses a token only you hold, and you can revoke it in Me at any time.

Your data leaves with you

  • Edit or delete any entry, anytime, in the app.
  • Export everything - Me → “Export my data” downloads your entire account, photos included, as one file you keep.
  • Delete everything - Me → “Delete my account.” It permanently erases your account and every record with it from our database, immediately. If you'd rather we do it, email support@careinrhythm.com and we will.

If you join our launch list

If you give us your email on our website (for the free guide or launch updates), we store it to send you those emails (via Loops) and nothing else. It's kept separate from any self-care data, never sold, every email has an unsubscribe link - and deleting your Cadence account removes you from this list too.

Children

Cadence is for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If what we store or who processes it ever changes, this page changes in the same release - we'll update the date above and note material changes in the app.
